When you book a boudoir session with me, you’re not just booking time in front of my camera.
I have intentionally created and refined the experience over the years so you can show up, be taken care of, and enjoy your day! You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to have five perfect outfits ready to go. And you definitely don’t need to figure everything out on your own.
Here are 10 things I include in your San Diego boudoir photoshoot experience, and why I think they matter:
1. A planning + styling call
A few weeks before your photoshoot day arrives, we’ll have a planning and styling call on Zoom where we talk through what you’re envisioning, what you want to wear, what you are comfortable with, and what you want your photos to feel like.
I’ll help you figure out what to bring, what will photograph well, and how we can get variety throughout your session.
You don’t need to show up with everything figured out. That’s literally what I’m here for!
Why I include it: Because I don’t want you stressing about your outfits the night before or walking into the studio thinking, “Okay… now what?”
We have a plan before you even get here.
2. A full day in my private studio
I photograph one client per day in my private studio in east Mission Valley, San Diego.
That means we’re not rushing through your session because someone else is waiting outside the door. You have the studio, my attention, and the entire day.
We’ll take breaks. We’ll change outfits. We’ll try things. We’ll laugh. We might take a snack break in the middle. There is no need to rush it.
Why I include it: Because this is supposed to feel like an experience, not an appointment you need to hurry through.
You get to actually be present and enjoy yourself!
3. Professional hair + makeup
Professional hair and makeup is included with your session.
You’ll have a professional artist from a member of my all-female glam team take care of you before we start photographing. We can keep it natural, go a little more glam, or do something in between depending on what feels like you.
Why I include it: Because getting pampered is part of the fun!
And because when you sit down in the makeup chair, you can stop thinking about getting yourself ready and just let someone else take care of it.
4. Access to my studio wardrobe
You can absolutely bring your own lingerie and outfits, but you also have access to my studio wardrobe including lots of studio favorites like button ups, bodysuits, stockings, lace robes, pearls, veils, and more.
So if you’re thinking, “I have nothing to wear,” please don’t panic-buy five things from Amazon at 11 pm.
We’ll figure it out together!
Why I include it: Because I don’t expect you to already own a boudoir wardrobe.
Having options in the studio also makes it much easier to create different looks without you having to spend a ton of money on pieces you’ll only wear once.
5. Multiple looks
Most sessions include 3-5 looks, depending on how we’re moving through the day.
You can bring lingerie, an oversized shirt, a sheet, something personal to you, or whatever we come up with during planning. And honestly, some of my favorite images happen when we’re not doing what you originally thought we would!
Why I include it: Because I want your gallery to have variety. Different outfits, different setups, different expressions, different sides of you.
You don’t have to pick one version of yourself and stick with it for the entire session.
6. Fully guided posing, customized to you
This one is important:
You do not need to know how to pose.
I will tell (and show!) you exactly what to do. Where to put your hands. Where to put your legs. How to move. Where to look. When to hold a pose. When to relax.
And I’m not giving every woman the exact same series of poses. I’m paying attention to your body and how you move and adjusting as we go.
Why I include it: Because “just be sexy” is terrible direction.
You hired a professional photographer. Your job is to show up. My job is to make you look incredible!
7. Polaroids to take home
I love to take a few Polaroids during your session that you get to take home with you that day.
They’re not the finished product, obviously, but they’re a fun little physical reminder of your day.
Why I include it: Because I love having something you can actually hold onto before your final artwork is delivered.
And let’s be honest, there’s something very fun about leaving your boudoir session with a couple Polaroids in your hand!
8. Snacks + drinks
There will be snacks and drinks waiting for you in the studio, and also a coffee shop next door that I would love to treat you to while you get settled in hair and makeup!
Why I include it: Because we’re spending the day together. You shouldn’t have to survive on caffeine and adrenaline.
Also, snack breaks are important. I am a Taurus. Please eat. 🙂
9. A robe + slippers
You’ll have a robe and slippers to wear throughout the day when you’re not being photographed. So when we’re changing between looks or taking a break, you can throw on your robe, grab a drink, and relax. Plus, your robe and slippers are yours to take home and keep!
Why I include it: Because being comfortable makes a huge difference!
By the end of the day, you’re usually walking around the studio in your robe like you’ve lived there for years.
10. Your same-day reveal
After we’re finished photographing, you don’t have to wait two weeks to see your photos.
We’ll sit down together that same day and look through your images.
This is when you get to see the whole thing come together and choose exactly what you love. We’ll talk through your options for albums, wall art, folios, digital images, and anything else you might want for your photos.
Why I include it: Because I don’t want you to have to wait to see how stunning you are.
You shouldn’t have to wonder what your photos look like or wait around for someone to send you a gallery and say, “Hope you like them!”
I want to see your reaction. I want to hear which ones are your favorites. And I want you to leave knowing exactly what you love.
So, what’s actually included?
A lot!
But more importantly, I’m there for all of it. From the first planning call to the moment you see your images for the first time, you don’t have to figure this out by yourself.
You bring yourself. I’ll take care of the rest!
