Doing a photoshoot like this can be scary for many women, but I’m here to help every step of the way. Here are ten of my favorite things in my San Diego boudoir studio so you have the most fun, comfortable, empowering experience.
Amazing photos start with an amazing experience, and as a boudoir photographer my goal is to give you both!
1. snacks and drinks
Being a model for a day can be hard work, and staying hydrated and nourished is important! I keep a tray with a variety of plant based snacks, and a mini fridge with options including water, Spindrift, La Croix, Poppi, sodas, and energy drinks. Want something specific? Just let me know!
2. professional hair and makeup artistry
No need to stress about doing it on your own — a talented member from my glam squad will be here to get you totally ready to go! Your day in the studio will begin with a customized hair and makeup look that will leave you feeling camera ready.
3. studio wardrobe
You never have to worry about what to wear! I have a few dozen pieces that we can use for your session, as well as additional accessories and jewelry. Whether you want a bodysuit, robe, button up, or draped fabric, the studio wardrobe is here to help. Note: I do not keep lingerie in the wardrobe, for sanitary and sizing reasons, but can provide you with a list of incredible local lingerie stores if you’d like.
4. private bathroom and changing area
A private and comfortable area to get ready in is super important to me! The studio bathroom is fully stocked with almost anything you might need, from makeup wipes to q-tips to a clothing steamer. Oh, and make sure to check out the gorgeous mural from San Diego muralist Hanna Gundrum of Little House Ink while you’re here!
5. getting ready robe
In the bathroom, you’ll also find a super cozy robe (with pockets!) hanging on the door ready for you to wear while getting ready and/or in between sets, if you would like. Plus, you get to take it home with you!
6. encouragement notes from past clients
Last but not least for the bathroom, you’ll find the empowerment wall! This was started in my previous studio, and is full of encouraging notes and advice from past clients. Plus, you get to leave your own note after your own session, too.
7. Bluetooth speaker
Because good music always makes a photoshoot even more fun (just don’t make fun of my bad dance moves!). Bring your favorite music, and we will turn it up!
8. a variety of backdrops and sets
I want your photos to be custom to you, so I have a lot of backdrops and sets so there is a lot of variety in your images. Sets include classic studio seamless papers, hand-painted canvases, mirrors, couches, the bed, and more. I’m excited to hear about what speaks to you!
9. big mirrors to check yourself out in
And take gorgeous selfies while you’re here, too. 🙂
10. Polaroid camera
Your session includes a Polaroid print for the perfect keepsake and sneak peek for your finished artwork!
There are a lot more amazing things to find in my San Diego boudoir studio (did I even mention the hair fan, props, or large viewing screen?). If you have any questions about booking your own photoshoot or learning more about the studio, please get in touch at keeleymiller.com/contact.
I would love to welcome you to the studio, too!
