When I say I photograph boudoir, one of the most common things I hear is:
“I’ve always wanted to do that, but have never felt young/skinny/pretty/good enough.”
and that, dear reader, breaks my heart.
I’ve been photographing women for more than a decade, and I understand how difficult and scary it can be to step in front of the camera, especially for a photoshoot like this.
Over the past decade, I have had the honor of photographing hundreds of women for so many reasons. In an effort to encourage you to finally do the scary thing (although I promise, just booking this is the scary part — you may be surprised by how much fun your photoshoot will be!),
here are some of the reasons my clients have booked their photoshoot, in case they inspire you to book your own self love photoshoot in 2025:
- because you want to feel more confident
- because you want to see yourself in a new light
- because you are turning 30
- because you are turning 50
- because you are turning 80
- so you can show your grandkids hot photos of yourself from when you were younger (even though you will be, of course, still a total hottie)
- because you just got a new job/promotion/award/achievement
- because you gained weight
- because you lost weight
- because you are getting married
- because you are getting divorced
- because you survived cancer
- because you just got diagnosed, and you want to document your body before cancer
- because you want to pamper yourself
- because you want to have fun
- because you want — no, need — to reconnect with yourself
- because you are going to have a baby
- because you just had a baby
- because you have babies and you have not spent enough time on yourself because of said babies
- because you want to decorate your home with art of your own self
- because you want to embrace your so-called “flaws”
- because you want to wear that super sexy lingerie/dress/shoes/whatever that has been hiding in your closet
- because you want to step out of your comfort zone and try something new
- because you have always wanted to and it’s about damn time
- because you exist.
What will your reason be?
